Sage Knowledge Help

A guide to using Sage Knowledge to find background information on a wide variety of topics.

The Jessie C. Eury Library provides access to over 70 full-text reference books through Sage Knowledge.  These books may be browsed or searched completely online.  When accessing these items off-campus, you will be prompted to log-in using your Lincoln Christian username and password.

Basic Search

Sage Knowledge allows users to search the full text of all titles simultaneously.  This allows users to obtain a cross-disciplinary perspective on a topic.  This is very useful when beginning a search on a topic.

Basic Search allows users to enter a simple keyword search which searches the full text of every article in every title available through Sage Knowledge.

Enter a keyword in the basic search box or else click Advanced Search underneath.

A quick search box also appears on the top of each page in Sage Knowledge.

Enter search terms to begin a search from any page, or click the included link to Advanced Search.

Advanced Search

Advanced Search allows you to combine search terms using Boolean Operators and to place limits on your search.

Advanced types of search can include Full Text, Title, or Word. You can add rows to your search and select the Boolean operators AND, OR or NOT to link them.

Searches may be limited to a specific person as shown below.
Type a name or part of a name, and if you know what role they have in the work you want to find, limit to Author/Editor or Counselor or Interviewee, among other options.
Searches may also be limited by publication information or document type.
You can limit sources by publisher name or date range.
You can limit search by document type, such as books, handbooks, or encyclopedias. Note: At this time LCU does not have access to any videos via Sage Knowledge.
Searches may also be limited by subject.
Specific subject areas include Business & Management, Counseling & Psychotherapy, and Education.
