Why Interview?

You are expected to augment your research with one or more interviews with people who originate from the culture you are studying (preferred) or who have visited in this culture for an extended period of time (accepted).--Excerpt from project directions.

While completing this part of the project, please take precautions!

We suggest the following steps to make your personal contact a safe and productive interaction:

Meet in a public place like a student union or restaurant.

Take a friend with you to sit nearby.

Finding Someone from your Culture

Ask professors, friends, and family members if they know someone from your country.

Contact missions organizations who are focusing on reaching out to that culture.  See Leslie for suggestions.

Email an individual from your country.

E-mail addresses often can be found through the web pages of universities in your country.

Find a webpage created by an individual in your country and e-mail the individual.

Locating International Students and Residents in Central Illinois

There are multiple ways to locate international students and residents in central Illinois.

1.  Lincoln Christian University has numerous international students each year.

2. Universities in central Illinois are home to numerous international students.  Often Christian organizations at universities can help connect you wish these students.

3.  These same universities have campus departments which work with international students.

4. Ethnic restauraunts may also be a useful resource.
