Online Bibles and Language Help

Many online Bible study tools only provide access to word study tools that are base upon older, out of print and out of copyright sources instead of the most recent scholarship. LCU Professor Dr. Frank Dicken recommends the following online word study tools:

Net Bible
allows searches by verse, chapter and Strong's numbers which relate to specific Greek words in Strong's concordance.
STEP Bible
STEP Bible, created by Tyndale House, is designed for preaches and teachers who do not have access to Biblical language tools.

The following online Bible study tools provide access to specific resources which may be useful.

Bible Gateway
provides free access to several of the IVP New Testament Commentaries which are excellent resources for exegesis and word study.
Scholarly Bible Portal of the German Bible Society
Provides online access to original Greek and Hebrew versions of the Bible and are always the most recent editions available.
ESV and Tyndale Greek New Testament
Crossway Publishing provides access to the English Standard Version and the Tyndale Greek New Testament without charge.
