Using Websites

Websites provide a wide range of information varying in quality. Websites are useful for locating current news, information from various organizations, and opinions concerning a wide variety of subjects. Unlike books and periodicals, websites are not reviewed by any outside source or publishing body and must be carefully reviewed to determine legitimacy.

Old Testament Websites

Biblical Studies Foundation
may be searched by scripture passage and contains resources by top Bible scholars.
Old Testament Gateway
provides links to website on a variety of subjects related to the Old Testament including archaeology, ancient history, and each book of the Old Testament.

Culture Studies

Bible History Online
provides art, maps, archeological resources, and timelines in addition to other resources related to Bible history.
Okeanos
provides links to a variety of academic resources relating to the study of the Ancient and Biblical world. Note: Some of the links contained in this website no longer work but the links that do work are well worth your time.

Jewish Sources

Sefaria
Described as a living library of Jewish texts and includes many Jewish commentaries and texts.
