Off-Campus

Online students are encouraged to locate and utilize libraries in or near the community where they reside in addition to the Jessie C. Eury Library. 

Utilizing a College or University Library:

Many college and university libraries provide some services to patrons from their community.

• This opportunity may allow you to access resources you need much faster than via traditional request methods. 
• Most libraries allow community members to utilize their library collections, including reference sources and access to a copier, within their library.  
• Many libraries allow community members to purchase a card which allows limited check out from the library collection for a small fee.
• The Jessie C. Eury Library has Reciprocal Borrowing set up with some libraries. Learn more about Reciprocal Borrowing in the box below.

Note: You are encouraged to call ahead to ensure that the library is open and available to outside patrons particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Jessie C. Eury Library participates in several reciprocal borrowing agreements with other libraries across the state of Illinois and around the United States. 

• Reciprocal borrowing allows Lincoln Christian University students and faculty to visit other libraries and check out books in person. 
• Keep in mind reciprocal borrowing is designed to supplement resources available from the Jessie C. Eury Library. 
• If you don't see a reciprocal borrowing partner library near you, please contact the Jessie C. Eury Library.  We can help you locate a library near you which may allow you to use their collection for a small fee. 

Utilizing a Public Library:

• Public libraries are wonderful resources for personal reading and often provide interlibrary loan services to their patrons. 
• When a book or resource is available in your state, a local public library may be able to obtain the item for you more quickly and easily than our library can, particularly when you calculate delivery times. 
• Some libraries may require a small fee for interlibrary loan items. 
• Each student is encouraged to inquire what services are available at their local library.

Lincoln Public Library District in Lincoln, Illinois welcomes on-campus students.

Illinois resident? Your valid library card from your home public library may be used at Lincoln Public Library District.

Out of state resident? Bring your valid student ID card and an official document with your address that is within the city boundaries of Lincoln, IL to the Lincoln Public Library to obtain a card.
