Everyone knows how to search the internet, right?  Well, nearly everyone has some knowledge on how to find sources using the internet.  However, not everyone knows how their favorite search tools work or that there may be other search tools available which may provide better or different results for a search. 

Internet Do's and Don'ts

The internet provides a wide range of current informtion accessible to anyone with a computer and internet access.  However, journal and newspaper articles are frequently not available on the internet or require users to pay to access the information.

  • Search the internet AFTER searching for journal articles, government information, and books.
  • Utilize a wide variety of search tools.
