How Do I Find Dissertations, Doctoral Projects, and Theses?

A guide to assist you in locating and accessing dissertations and theses through the Jessie C. Eury Library.

WorldCat Dissertations and Theses is a sub-set of WorldCat which searches only Dissertations and Theses.  This is useful when looking for this specific type of resource.

Search WorldCat Dissertations and Theses

When searching WorldCat Dissertations and Theses, you will automatically be searching Advanced Search. Advanced Search allows users to combine up to three different search terms to create very specific searches.

Select a search type such as author or keyword in the dropdown menu. Entering search terms in more than one search box combines the terms using the Boolean operators AND, OR, or NOT.  Choose between them in the dropdown box at the beginning of the second row.  Click Add row if you want to add a third term to your search.

Working with WorldCat Dissertation & Theses Search Results

WorldCat Dissertations & Theses results are displayed in a list including author and title.

Click on a title to view additional information about a thesis, including owning libraries.

While looking at the item record, select Request Item to place an interlibrary loan request for a thesis or dissertation.
