FAQ

Is there a charge?

The Jessie C. Eury Library strives to obtain all items for free. If there will be a charge, you will be asked if you wish to accept the charge or cancel the request.

How long before I receive the item?

  • Articles typically arrive in 2 business days or less.
  • During Covid-19 allow a minimum of 1 week for items to arrive as all items are quarantined. 
  • Books and media items arrive in approximately 1 week depending on the distance the item must travel.

How will I know an item has arrived?

You will receive an On Hold Shelf notice sent to your LCU email address.

I'm an Off-Campus student. Can I use Interlibrary Loan?

To request delivery of books or media from libraries outside of I-Share to your home, please utilize the Interlibrary Loan request form and indicate the item is to be mailed. 

If you desire to have a portion of the item scanned to you, please indicate that in the form as well.

Students are responsible for shipping the book or media item, including the cost of return shipping, to the Jessie C. Eury Library via USPS. Please mail items to Jessie C. Eury Library, Lincoln Christian University, 100 Campus View Dr., Lincoln, IL 62656.

How will I receive articles?

All Interlibrary Loan articles will be delivered electronically to your LCU email address as either a PDF attachment or a link and password allowing you to download the article.

How long may I keep an item?

  • Books and media items are typically due in 2-4 weeks depending on the lending library. 
  • Articles are yours to keep.

May I renew items?

Books from LCU or I-Share may be renewed. 

Renewals on other items are handled on a case by case basis with the individual lending library.  Please contact the Jessie C. Eury Library to request a renewal.
