eBooks on EBSCO

A guide to searching and using eBooks on the EBSCOhost platform.

Advanced Search

Advanced Search allows users to create very specific searches.  Advanced Search combines up to multiple unique search words using Boolean Searching and allows users to choose which specific field will be searched.

Click on Advanced Search and then enter each keyword in a separate search box.  If you need additional search boxes, click Add a Row.

Click the left drop-down to select a Boolean Operator. Click the right one to select a specific field for each search term.

Specific fields to search vary from database to database. Examples include text, title, author, and subject in addition to others.

Limits within Advanced Search

Advanced Search offers several limits not provided in Basic Search. The example below is from PsycBooks.

PsycBooks Advanced Limits include options for full text only, publication year, document type, and so forth.

Keep in mind limits vary from database to database.
