7.   Receive 10 extra credit points for making personal contact with an individual from your country and writing a one page summary of your experience.

  • The following options are suggested for completing this extra credit:

Meet with an international student from your country OR E-mail someone from your country (not a missionary but a native of the country).

NOTE:  Take precautions!  We suggest the following steps to make your personal contact a safe and productive interaction:

To meet with an international student from your country:

  • Begin by contacting the Christian Campus House Minister or another Christian ministry on campus who can help you locate a Christian International student or an international student with whom they are sharing the gospel.
  • Arrange to meet in a public place such as the student union.
  • Take a friend with you to sit in the next booth or nearby for encouragement.

To email someone from your country:

  • E-mail addresses often can be found through the web pages of universities in your country.
  • Find a webpage created by an individual in your country and e-mail the individual.

NOTE:   Since many countries are closed to missionaries when e-mailing an individual from your country or meeting a non-Christian individual from your country, it is recommended you refer to this course as “Inter-Cultural Studies” rather than Introduction to the Purpose of the Church.
