Purpose of the Church Guided Research Project

Instructions and resources for completing the country project for Introduction to the Purpose of the Church.

Be Involved

You can be involved in what God is doing in your country by encouraging the missionaries presently there and praying for unevangelized people in your country.

Write a letter or e-mail of encouragement to one of the missionaries to your country.  The missionary must be a member of a religious organization whose primary purpose is to spread the gospel. 

Use the information linked below for writing appropriate letters, particularly to “sensitive” countries. If your country is especially “senstive” and you would feel more comfortable, you may show your letter to Professor Nichols or the mission TA before sending to the missionary.

 If writing a letter:

  •  Place one copy of the letter in your 3-ring notebook.
  • Take the letter to the U.S. Post Office to be mailed.  If you are mailing a letter overseas, follow the instructions available via the U.S. Post Office International Delivery Services. 

 If writing an e-mail:

  • Place one copy of the e-mail in your notebook
  • Send the e-mail to your missionary

 

Compile a list of prayer concerns relevant to your country in your own words.
